The resources of our Earth are limited, therefore the industry of the future will develop without alternative under the motto “total processing of old things”. To do this, it is better to make them all from one material at a time: you can not let the wooden product go under the saw without removing the metal nails from it. But how much easier will it become if they are made of wood?
In the company Beck Fastener Group have developed a technology for manufacturing and using fasteners based on pressed wood. This nails LignoLoc diameter 3.7 mm and a length of 50-65 mm, which in strength is not inferior to aluminum analogues. They are not slaughtered, they are driven into wooden structures by a pneumatic gun at a pressure of about 7 bar. In this case, the effect of “welding by friction” occurs – all the wooden parts at the point of location of the nail are sintered into a single whole.
Wooden nails do not rust, do not paint the material in a different color, do not conduct heat, which is beneficial for the construction of saunas. Environmentally friendly, harmless material – in the course are pressed waste processing of beech wood with the addition of resins. Plus, they are almost not noticeable at the installation site after the final processing of the product, and when dismantling, all is cut together.
The disadvantages of wooden nails are exactly two: their strength is lower than that of steel, and they are not compatible with some carpentry tools. This means that the novelty will not replace the steel nail, but only take its niche – when creating furniture, decorative coatings, interior decoration of buildings, etc.
